Zoe Saldana is the child of Asalia Saldana and Aridio Nazario. She was born in Passaic (New Jersey) on the 19th of June, 1978. The actress was born in New Jersey's Passaic to Asalia Nazario and Aridio Saldana. She was raised by her mother who lived in Queens. After she turned 10, she along with her parents moved to Dominican Republic. They lived in the Dominican Republic for seven more years. In the Dominican Republic, Zoe discovered a keen passion for performance dancing and enrolled in the highly regarded ECOS Espacio de Danza Dance Academy where she studied ballet, as well as various other dance forms.
