Anna Paquin was born in the city of Winnipeg, but was raised in Wellington. She made her acting debut as Flora McGrath, The romantic-drama film Piano. Paquin is a Canadian and New Zealand-born actress. She was born in Winnipeg but brought up in Wellington the city where she was born, she had her first appearance as an actor on screen in The Piano. In this romantic drama film at the age of 11, Paquin won her second Oscar for Best Actress. Anna Paquin's full title is Anna Helene Paquin. Born July 24th 1982 in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada, she was an Canadian birthed New Zealand actress. As a child, Paquin won the Academy Award for best support actress. The role she played as the talkative and inquisitive girl of Holly Hunter played in The Piano (1993) earned her the honor. She was cast as Flora McGrath the daughter of a blind Scottish pianist who, in the mid-19th century moves into New Zealand for an arranged wedding after she accepted an open audition call when she was just nine years old. She had little prior experience in acting. Following her move in the United States, she became an adolescent. Paquin started her acting career when she was a kid, with the part as the Jane Eyre protagonist in the Franco Zeffirelli novel Jane Eyre, and then a major part on the film Fly Away Home. Paquin played a minor role in the television movie of 1997 adaptation to Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding. She also played the Princess of Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (2007). She portrayed teenagers in Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000) and A Walk on the Moon (2000). She portrayed her character groupie Polexia Aphrodisa on Almost Famous (2000).
